New York Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2010 Day 3: Alexander Wang

I felt like I was attending a funeral today at the Alexander Wang show. The atmosphere put forth by the clothes, the makeup and the model’s swagger was downright depressing. One would think this could have been in tribute to losing a fashion legend but we all know collections are not made the night before a show.  Any show that can make the innocent Natalia Vodianova look like a menacing creature gets high marks in my books for creativity…and let me tell you, Natalia looked tough as she opened and closed the show for Wang.
The designs this year were very complex and some may even say too busy with all of their belts and buckles.  However, I believe when seen as separates on the rack these pieces will blow our minds. Thrown all together on one model is just too chaotic and takes attention away from the supreme quality of design of each piece.
