For those of you that are regular readers of this blog, you will already know that I am a Ralph Lauren obsessive. There is no brand that means more to me. I grew up in Ralph and I’ve grown with their collections from Lafayette, to Ralph Lauren Kids, to Rugby and now finally into Collection (on good paycheck months). I was given the most fantastic opportunity last week, on the night of the 4D presentation at Ralph Lauren on Bond Street, to meet David Lauren. David is the son of Ralph and Ricky Lauren and also the Senior Vice President of Ralph Lauren Advertising, Marketing and Corporate Communications. David’s job is not an easy one. He is basically in charge of managing the image for 28 brands under the Ralph Lauren umbrella. After meeting with him face to face I can understand why is the perfect man for the job. David Lauren is all charm and yet still all about the business at hand. This is not a case of nepotism…David Lauren truly is the best man for his job. He is the essence of Ralph Lauren and I am not ashamed to admit that I was completely swept away by the whole experience.
