Fendi Autumn Winter 2011, Milan Fashion Week

The backdrop at Fendi’s show, a neutrally shaded work of collage art, was more than just a pretty piece.  It was an indicator for what was in store.  The layers on the wall seem to accurately align with the massive layering seen on each and every model.  It’s a good thing they did use size “nothing” models as this sort of layering on any “normal” sized woman would see us all looking like a stayed-puff marshmallow men.  However, that’s the only negative thing you’ll hear me say about the show. When it comes to the outerwear presented at today’s catwalk, you’ll have to beg me to stay quiet. The fur coats with croc cuffs…why on why has no one thought of this before?! And a shearling coat worn inside out…or more to the point – designed inside out – is again a work of art! Finish it all off with fur bibs and colour blocked coats and you have yourself a winning collection from Fendi, once again.
