Tory Burch Autumn Winter 2011, New York Fashion Week

I make no secret of the fact that I am a big fan of Tory Burch. When I received the invite to attend her show this Sunday in New York City, I was overcome with excitement at seeing the new looks for the season. As a designer, Burch has grown tremendously over the years. What started out as a line that seemed to be designed only for “socialites”, and those who dreamt of being recognized as such, has become a brand that commands the respect of fashion editors across the board.  Tory Burch has put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into becoming an internationally recognized brand and deserves every ounce of recognition she receives today for her dedication and hardwork.

However, this season I felt the catwalk was not as strong as previous years.  That does not mean that the individual pieces were anything less than extraordinary.  I simply feel that the styling of the items was, at times, too much for any of us to take in. When the looks are taken apart and seen individually on hangers, I have no doubt that this will be a sell out collection.
