Daphne Guinness auctions closet to benefit Isabella Blow Foundation

Daphne Guinness is one in a million and she’s truly on another level with fashion. So much so that when we see her at events she is always the star of the show. She walks into a room and all eyes are on her and what she has chosen for an ensemble for the event. It’s never anything less than sensational. If she were to enter a room in jeans and a t-shirt, I think many in the world would believe the world has tipped over.

Today, however, Daphne Guinness is being recognized for a different reason…although it still has everything to do with fashion.  Guinness is actioning off 100 pieces from her personal wardrobe to launch a charity she has set up in honour of Isabella Blow.  Daphne Guinness and Christie’s will sell the collection on the 27th of June 2012.  And what we’re loving most is that this means there will be a chance for all of us to go and view her collection like an exhibition in a museum! The sale contents will be open to the public to view between 23rd-27th of June 2012 in the Christie’s South Kensington Saleroom.

Pat Frost, Director of Christie’s Fashion Department commented: “We are delighted to be offering the fashion world this incredible one-off opportunity to buy some of the most iconic and cutting-edge haute couture of the early 21st century, owned and worn by Daphne Guinness. Not only will the auction comprise exceptional designs by the likes of McQueen, Chanel, Balenciaga and others, but it will also aptly benefit and shape the designers of the future. Christie’s is very proud to be able to play a part in helping Daphne to achieve her forward-looking and charitable aim.”
