The appointment of Marc Jacobs as the Creative Director of Diet Coke coincides with the celebration of Diet Coke’s 30th anniversary. Has it really only been 30 years that we have been enjoying our Diet Coke breaks? Seems like this addictive silver can has been in our lives for far longer. Never mind all that. So what can we expect from Marc Jacobs when it comes to his role as Creative Director?
Well, there’s a Diet Coke bottle to start. Keeping in line with his predecessors, Karl Lagerfeld and Jean Paul Gaultier, Marc Jacobs will give the Diet Coke can/bottle a whole new look. This will be revealed later this month. Instantly we’re all wondering if we’ll be enjoying a Marc Jacobs Diet Coke break at Fashion Week in Paris.
Then there are the campaigns for Diet Coke. If the first look above is any indication, there might be a few good men out there turning to afternoon Diet Coke breaks. Yes, Marc Jacobs does in fact drink the sweet stuff. Just makes us love you more, Marc.
