London Fashion Week: Antonio Berardi Spring Summer 2014

Antonio Berardi is a name that’s been on everyone’s mind for sometime now. Who can forget Gwyneth Paltrow’s biggest red carpet moment ever, earlier this year, when she wore an Antonio Berardi dress with sheer side panels that showed off her nearly perfect new ass-ets from Tracy Anderson. This morning we watched as Antonio Berardi shared his latest creations for the Spring Summer 2014 season and we began the show with Gwyneth in mind. That being said, by the time the last model made an appearance, we had over a dozen celebs in mind for showcasing this outstanding collection.

This season, Berardi gave us plenty to work with on the red carpet, while also providing a healthy dose of daywear. In playing with shapes and fabrics, Berardi cuts an interesting silhouette for his woman this season. From embellished strapless jumpsuits to metallic leopard print knits, there are extremes in this collection that will satisfy both the editorial crowd and the general consumer. Does this mean Antonio Berardi has adjusted his collection for sales? It most certainly does not. Berardi continues in pushing the limits of fashion with this collection, but the end result is something that is actually changing the way in which we purchase, rather than him changing to fit our purchasing needs. Berardi is in fact setting the trends and he is telling us to take risks with our daily play with fashion.

Risks we will be taking this season with Antonio Berardi include an impeccable leopard tuxedo-like jacket, the leopard raglan sleeve knit top and the sheer cocoon sleeve button-down top. That being said, there isn’t a single piece from the collection that we wouldn’t love to call our own.
