I’m truly convinced every morning should begin in London with a pastry at The Dorchester. Oh if only life were that kind. Well, in fact, this morning I got a taster for what such a privilege would feel like.
To celebrate the launch of a very special partnership between The Dorchester and Smythson, I was invited behind the scenes of the hotel today. I met leading pastry chefs, explored kitchens where the magic happens, inhaled the sweet smell of fresh flowers scattered throughout the hotel and even met the man himself behind the beautiful floral arrangements. I toured The Dorchester Suite, was given a glimpse at a traditional afternoon tea and finally finished with the most decadent breakfast, featuring some of the world’s best pastries, in The Dorchester Spa.
Before I give you a glimpse of what I discovered, let me just tell you that as a guest of The Dorchester, 45 Park Lane or Coworth Park, if you tweet at the hotel before you arrive, using the hashtag #headoverheels you will find a Smythson ‘Head Over Heels’ cross-grain leather flip book waiting for your in your room. Oh yeah, it’s really just that easy.
What won’t be easy is looking at the following pictures and keeping yourself from jumping in your closest cab while screaming, “to The Dorchester, my good man.”
