Chanel’s Supermarket Sweep at Paris Fashion Week

What is it this season with groceries that has the fashion world going mad? First it was Anya Hindmarch’s cereal box totes, now we have Karl Lagerfeld turning the Grand Palais in Paris into a regular supermarket. Well, in fact, there is nothing “regular” about this supermarket. For starters, each and every product is branded as Chanel. Oh yes, Chanel candy, Chanel ham, Chanel detergent, and so forth and so on. If this existed in the real world, Chanel would undoubtedly be the most popular supermarket on the block. Sadly, this is just for show. And what a show it was.

Throughout the Chanel AW2014 collection presentation, models roamed the aisles of the Chanel supermarket and picked up Chanel daily essentials for the model grind. Although, it seems the models weren’t the only ones shopping. At the end of the show the audience went mad, attacking the aisles and grabbing their own Chanel Souvenirs (video at the bottom).

Here’s a look at the Chanel supermarket, from doors opening to models walking (yes, even Kendall Jenner walked), Karl closing and people thieving… All told through Instagram!

Let’s take a look at some of the Chanel products stocked in the supermarket, kicking off with a view of the supermarket itself:
