What I wore in Iceland: Day 1

You know how I keep going on and on about trying new things with fashion? Well, my new thing is all about wardrobe building with neutral colours. I’m trying to only buy serious colour pops when they strike me as must haves. Otherwise, I’m trying to build a wardrobe with a palette that means everything just “goes.” This isn’t the easiest thing in the world to do, but I’m giving it my best shot as packing is a hell of a lot easier if things can be worn every which way together to make an outfit.

Now, My first day in Iceland, I decided to go heavy on the layers for two reasons. First of all, I was out of room in my suitcase and way overweight with the case allowances. So, I decided to wear all of my heaviest items on the plane. I layered two sweaters, a chambray shirt, a tweed jacket and some seriously clunky boots and off I went to the airport. Of course having the airport attendants send you back through the machine several times, layer by layer, isn’t the most convenient thing. But, it saves you the overweight fees on the bags, right? In retrospect, I’m glad I wore so much as when we got off the plane in Iceland, I still thought I was going to freeze to death!

What I’m Wearing:

Uniqlo Hat, J Crew Chambray Shirt, Spanx Leggings (have about 15 pairs of these),

Ralph Lauren SweaterMax Mara Weekend Coat (similar), Boots
