Just a quick try on today, from a tiny order at J Crew. It wasn’t initially a tiny order, but the sizing was all over the place, so I only wanted to feature a handful of items. It basically came down to an Instastories try on of all things I kept. Everything else was either like wearing a tent or trying to squeeze into a size eight when I wear an eighteen and ordered an eighteen. Sizing just seems to be getting tougher for some retailers and I am truly feeling for J Crew on this one. I can feel them trying to be better with sizing, but it seems in sizing up they’ve lost a firm hold on what their sizing is in general. So, J Crew, you still have a loyal customer here, and one that is hugely supportive of you trying to be more size inclusive. You haven’t quite hit the nail on the head just yet, but please don’t give up! Now, let’s get involved, here. I’ll share what size I ordered in every piece below. A few things to note. I usually wear a UK size 18, I’m 6’2 and please take notice that I use affiliate links in this post. Happy Hunting!
Boyfriend Cardigan Sweater in Palm Print

This is my favourite look, but you guys know how I love a print clash! I can feel my mom cringing at the sight of this ensemble. Sorry, mom. First of all, the cardigan sweater is a thing of true beauty and genius. It’s a bright spot in an autumnal wardrobe of mostly neutrals. If one morning you wake up and you need to deliver your own sunshine, this is your solution. It’s loud, proud and stylishly on point and I’m obsessed. Also, it’s a bit of a heavier cardigan, so it sits beautifully on the body. Order true to size!
Pleated Midi Skirt with Floral Border
Was $138, Now $88.99
Size 00-24
Wearing Size 18
So you don’t have to print clash with this skirt to make it work. I can see it matching perfectly with an easy white button down and a red belt. You can also match with a camel round neck boyfriend sweater or tie up a chambray shirt if you’re still in the throws of warm weather. It’s a skirt you can wear on holiday, to the office or for Sunday brunch. Gotta love that versatility!
Was $69.50, now $35
Sizes XXS-2X
Wearing XXL
I bought these with the idea that they would be the perfect travel leggings and that’s what they’ve proven to be. I wore them on the trip down to Miami, with an oversized sweatshirt and leopard print loafers and felt comfortable and chic. They are high rise and super stretchy. If you are looking for leggings that will slim and trim, these are not your bag. They aren’t spanx. They are leggings that are just that….leggings. No flare, just a good fit for comfort and a super print for style!
(Top is not J Crew, it’s See Rose Go-a wonderful plus size brand that needs to be on everyone’s radar!)

I’m starting with the skirt, because I love that this is a two for one deal this autumn. It can easily be worn as both a skirt and a dress, with some great big brown boots! I showcase the first look, as a skirt, with the V-Neck Cardigan, also from J Crew. The second look is as a dress with two pieces from Ralph Lauren. I think the more bang you can get for your buck, with clothing purchases, the better. Always try and think, upfront, of the many ways you can wear a garment before you purchase it. Always have a plan! I knew instantly that this would work about fifteen different ways in my closet immediately, so it was a no brainer.
A note on size: you can order one size down from your usual size if you are looking for a more body hugging fit. If you want loose and comfortable, order true to size.

This is a classic piece that is well made. Think old school J Crew. The pieces that were made to last for generations, not just seasons! It’s also weighty, so will layer nicely almost like a coatigan, or can be worn on it’s own for an easy classic look!
