Whenever I receive a new magazine in the mail I get goosebumps. I can’t wait to release the crisp glossy pages from the horrible plastic capsule in which it has arrived.  As my fingers glide across the cover I don’t even bother to read the words describing the contents. I have to dig in immediately. When the first page is displayed it’s like entering a closet full of fur coats, only I’m not entering “Narnia” but instead entering some parallel universe where my closet is large, bank account flush and body perfect. I, in my mind, own and where any dress or piece of clothing I so desire.  And so the game begins. Only my game changed a bit with the Vogue September Issue.  While reading the September issue I imagined what it would be like to be told that you could only wear clothing, for the whole autumn season, found on the pages in front of you. Try it next time you flip open a copy of Elle, InStyle or Vogue. It’s an interesting little exercise in fashion discipline. And just to give you a little insight into what I would have chosen…here’s what was running through my head…courtesy of Vogue Magazine, September 2009, Conde Nast.
