I’m in Charlotte, North Carolina for the next seven days and I have some time to do a feature I’ve been wanting to put together for a while. It’s called “Shop Across America.” Every day this week I will choose one ‘arena’ of shopping and report back on the best finds. This is going to cover every price range from top to bottom and clothing in all shapes and sizes…so no one is left out! I will shop Malls, Outlet Malls, big retailers (ie. Walmart, Target, Kmart), Goodwills and big boys like Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth. No stone will be left unturned. What’s the goal? To show you that you can have $1,000 or $10,000 in your pockets tomorrow and still go out and settle up a nice wardrobe for the remainder of Summer and the lead in to Autumn!
Today is the first day of my grand adventure and I started with a store I know exists in every neighborhood in the USA…WALMART! If all you ever did was go in and buy the absolute basics from Walmart you could be a very stylish young lady indeed. In fact, I know many a fashionista that will buy their grey v-neck t-shirts from Walmart and pair them with diamond necklaces worth more than my car and designer jeans costing what I might make in a week! I’m not recommending that you rock up to Walmart tomorrow and purchase the entire Miley Cyrus clothing line…but, there are some pieces you can purchase on the cheap that can work well in your wardrobe. Here’s my dish on discoveries (and yes, the Fedora was a joke):
