Gucci has a whole new look coming our way for the first quarter of 2013. Fans of the brand will notice a surprising and very different vibe in the windows starting this month. The Italian brand has collaborated with Japanese Manga artist, Hirohiko Araki, to create an exclusive story for their windows.
“Jolyne, Fly High with Gucci” is meant to tell the story of a young student who inherits her mother’s Gucci collection. In the beautiful images created by Araki, we see Jolyne Cujoh “embark on a journey” through Gucci’s past and present with references to the classic Flora pattern the house is famous for.
If there were ever a way to shake a brand’s image up, this is the way to go. It’s completely unexpected and will definitely draw eyes to windows across more than 70 Gucci boutiques around the world. The windows are debuting across the globe today, so keep eyes peeled. I’m actually heading out tonight to try and catch a first peek at the windows on Bond Street. Gucci, I have to say… I am VERY impressed and can’t wait to see more images as they roll out.
