Sass & Bide bring silver to the forefront for autumn winter 2013

For those of you amongst us with a metallic obsession, have we ever got a beautiful collection for you. This evening, in London, Sass & Bide showcased their autumn winter 2013 collection, which saw a runway overflowing with strong accents. From the silver knits to the bright yellow clutches, this was a collection made for grabbing attention.

The designers described this collection as a “textural landscape that is…Wintergate“{Wintergate being the title of the collection}. For those in the industry that know these two women, you will know that their experimentation with texture does not start, and will certainly not stop, with this collection. Each and every season I am surprised by what we are presented with on the catwalk, as far as textures are concerned. This season was certainly no exception from heavy knits to light as air evening gowns.

Sass & Bide may not be providing you with looks for a Sunday pub lunch, but that’s never been the brand and it’s never been a look that the designers have chased after either. This is a brand looking for the luxurious. From where I was sitting, I can honestly say that the work that went into creating such beautiful embellishments on everything from evening gowns to beaded blazers, is worthy of a closer look come autumn 2013.

It is worth mentioning that Sass & Bide produce clothing for both the “real
women” amongst us, as well as the flashbulb seekers hanging out on red
carpets, and truly I do believe that to be an extreme compliment. It is
so tough to design for both crowds these days and the women that can
create that miracle combination truly rule the roost.

Just as a side note, cutest moment ever had to be at the close of the show when the designers, Heidi Middleton and Sarah-Jane Clarke, came out to give a quick wave and were instead met by two daughters rushing the stage to congratulate their amazing mums.  Can you just imagine the closets these girls are going to inherit? I’d be hugging my mom too knowing that lay in store for me one day.
