Those of you that know me and know me well will not be surprised to hear that these are photographs of my happy place. While I may call the big city “home,” my true love is found in the front seat of a pickup truck, golden retriever by my side and the country road laid out in front me. Yes, I am a walking, talking country song. Well, in my wildest dreams. Chances are, if you see me on the tube, I’m blaring an old Garth Brooks tune or Kip Moore’s Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck, as London flashes by outside. Closing my eyes, I’m in another place entirely. It’s how I get through the hot and smelly public transport moments where you wish you were any place but right there, right then.
But, I’m not back there yet. I’m still in the thick of southern living and loving every moment of sharing it with you guys. The cheesier the picture, the better I feel about it. Now, let’s talk a little fashion. This moment is one that comes courtesy of needing a dress in a pinch and having an Old Navy sitting right in front of me. And that’s how the purchase of this yellow number happened. I was not prepared for this super warm weather in South Carolina. How can I call myself a respectable fashion blogger? I came home with nothing that is suitable for 80 degree weather. Epic mistake.Thank goodness for shopping centers close by. And Old Navy dresses are always a win for an easy spring or summer moment. This season is no exception. There are some fun pieces in store for casual wear, from fitted to loose gypsy numbers.
So there you have it. A few firsts – me in a pickup truck and displaying an Old Navy moment. What’s next? No clue… watch this space. It’ll be a surprise for us all.
