I’m a 39 year old woman standing tall in a pink tulle skirt that makes me feel as if age truly is just a number. Sure, the girl wearing this on the website looks about ten, and looked like she’d never seen or even heard of a double digit clothing size, but that didn’t keep me from pressing purchase. When it arrived in the post, the bag it came in was bursting at the seams. This skirt was ready to be set free. I laughed uncontrollably when I took it out and put it on – had to put it over my head as it wouldn’t pull up around my hips. This was the most ridiculous skirt I had ever purchased. But, there was no way I was living life without it.
That’s the thing about fashion. Sometimes the most ridiculous, out there, things feel like they fit your personality the most. Over the next few years you’ll see a lot more of this skirt. I’m going to find a way to wear it every single season. For now, I’m wearing it just so, with a cashmere roll neck and big chunky cowboy boots, accessorised with turquoise everything. This is my happy place, here in a perfect country escape, dressed like a woman who so desperately wants to be asked to join the cast of Sex & The City. This is the good life.
