I think we can all agree that double denim is an official member of the classic outfit collection. There was that tiny blip, when Justin and Britney took it too far, but, other than that, this trend of wearing a Canadian Tuxedo will never die. It’s a fashion classic, a wardrobe essential, an ensemble you absolutely need to have on call to look chic with minimal effort. The old standard, a denim shirt and a great pair of jeans, can be styled and accessorised a thousand different ways all on its own. So go mad! But, I thought I’d go a bit further and put together all the different forms that double denim can come in. From denim minis to maxi dresses, the double denim look isn’t exclusive to a top and jeans. Denim comes in all forms, and all forms are up for making that double denim a reality.
Before we get into looks, let’s talk denim buying. I am 6’3 and I wear a size 18. Buying denim has always been the toughest task for me, and one that ended in tears for years before extended sizing became a thing. So, a quick guide to “wear I shop.” These are places that carry extended sizes (they come in petite, tall, etc, but I’m concentrating more here on jeans in extended sizes). Basically I only now support brands that want to support women of all sizes when it comes to denim! So here we go, a list of my favourites that I guarantee you will love shopping, no matter your shape or size. I have ordered from each and every one of these 14 retailers and been made to feel amazing in the products they have supplied!
Double denim is a look that truly looks good on every single body shape, so get involved and snap up a shirt and jean that fit you perfectly, and except nothing less.
