Style Update: Peach Perfection with Pom Poms

So when packing for our little road trip to the coast of France I pretty much had my entire closet on my bed. You know, as you do, right? I’m a bit of a stickler when it comes to holiday packing. Long ago I abandoned the idea of throwing everything in a suitcase and hoping for the best. Now I’m a calculated packer. I know exactly what I’m going to wear and with what and my suitcase is organized as such. Wouldn’t my mother be proud! However, there are certain moments when things don’t go exactly to plan. Take, for example, my intention to wear beautiful sandals throughout the course of the trip. That plan died on day one when we walked eight miles and I actually developed blisters on the soles of my feet. How the heck, right? So, out came the trusty Converse and they were worn with absolutely everything.

And no, they were not intended to be worn with a beautiful Monki peach tiered dress. I had beautiful and delicate white leather sandals in line for this ensemble. But you know what? Sometimes you have to sacrifice the plan for the sake of your health. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have feet to speak of today if I hadn’t. Anyway, that’s the lesson learned and the sharing of a beautiful dress that deserves better than Converse, but it is what it is.

Now, let’s also take a moment to talk about this bag, if you’ll allow me. If you don’t know about the Rae Feather brand, get ready for an “a ha” moment. This has been a favourite of mine for a while now, mainly because you can have everything monogrammed. I am from the south, remember, so a monogram goes a long way. This bag is one of the newest to the collections. It’s called the Rae Feather Martha Basket and I’m pretty sure it was made for casual walks in Martha’s Vineyard (using my imagination here).
