Style Update: Chasing Cherry Blossoms

It’s officially the prettiest time of year in London. The trees are all starting to blossom, and this is only the start of the show. Just as the Cherry Blossoms start to fall from the trees, bare vines all across London are teasing with bits of wisteria. That means wisteria hysteria will once again sweep across the big city and I think you know I’ll be one of the first, out there bright and early, with my camera and a passion for pops of purple. For now, though, I’m enjoying the flashes of pink all over the city and watching my head as I walk, as I seem to be constantly flower-bombed by trees in Notting Hill. This is no joke, but it’s so beautiful when it happens, you can’t help but smile.

Of course now that the weather is heating up and the pastel colours are taking over every neighbourhood, my wardrobe is starting to change dramatically to match. I’m still embracing the knits, for now, but am also stepping out with a bit more of a floral direction in my coordinating separates. And this skirt, well, this skirt was a purchase made last week that could have been made thirty years ago. My mom used to have a skirt like this that she would wear with a denim shirt, boots and a wide brimmed hat I still dream about owning. It’s a skirt that is forever timeless, only I’m pretty sure I’ve fallen in and out of love with this exact style over a dozen times since I was a teenager. I make be fickle as hell when it comes to fashion but even I can’t argue that while we may have a love/hate relationship with certain classics, they always come back to haunt us!
