Style Update: The Perfect Embroidered Country Maxi Dress

Last night, while reading about Taoism, I came across a chapter talking about miracles. It spoke, in depth about the miracles we miss every moment of the day when we aren’t paying attention. Even our heart, beating without any instruction from us or reminders that it needs to beat, is a miracle in itself. But, it mostly encouraged each of us to pay attention to miracles around us, as small as a the first signs of spring or a beautiful bright blue sky. So, today, I walked with intention. I walked with the idea of looking for miracles. The sun spilled in and out of clouds and each and every time the sun hit my face, boom, it was a miracle. Somehow the sun never felt warmer or more penetrating on my skin. The wind blew my dress with great gusto and I watched as blades of grass danced like a perfectly choreographed troop, a wave of green weaving this way and that. And for the first time, in a long time, I took deep breaths and actually registered what it was that I was smelling. A mixture of wet earth, fresh grass and nearby cows. When I walked and opened every one of my senses to everything around me, I wasn’t just walking, I was in full on worship. Now, I know not everyone reading this will be religious. But, I don’t think you have to believe in a specific God or specific greater power to appreciate the beauty of what’s around you, no matter what your physical circumstances. Just closing your eyes and taking in the smells of an incoming takeaway or appreciating the sounds that a city constantly provide is a practice in realising miracles around you. And with that I’ll leave you with the outfit I wore when I was out and about, from a brand I’ve always adored. It is truly one of the most beautiful dresses and perfect for the upcoming transition from winter to spring! Oh, and it’s also available in plus size!

Lovely post Emily. Years ago I read, The Tao of Pooh, and it led me down a path of looking into Taoism. 💙 one of my favorite books is The Parent’s Tao Te Ching. It was such a great help when parenting. ☺️
    PS That dress is 🥰
